
Assistant Director of Performance
JOB DESCRIPTION
Quantum Movement is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Assistant Director of Performance to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a highly qualified and experienced coach who not only thrives in athlete development but also finds fulfillment in mentoring staff, refining systems, and shaping organizational culture.

Based in Vienna, Virginia, we specialize in athlete development using data-informed training and a multidisciplinary team to guide each athlete’s growth. The Assistant Director of Performance plays a central role in carrying that mission forward, ensuring every training session, every staff meeting, and every athlete experience reflects our commitment to Integrity, Collaboration, Discipline, and Growth.
This is a dual-capacity role that combines a minimum of 20 hours per week of hands-on performance training with 15 hours per week dedicated to leadership and operational responsibilities. You’ll spend part of your time on the turf and in the gym, coaching athletes through evidence-based programs, and part of your time behind the scenes, developing coaches, refining our systems, and supporting our leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver science-based training sessions to athletes of all levels, applying Quantum’s training philosophy.

Design individualized and small-group training programs grounded in data, biomechanics, and long-term athlete development principles.

Track athlete progress and evaluate key performance indicators.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary staff to optimize performance and recovery strategies for athletes.

Assist the Director of Performance in daily operational oversight to ensure cohesive and consistent team function.

Support onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing development of new trainers to uphold Quantum’s methodology, culture, and standards.

Manage training-floor operations to ensure all sessions run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Quantum’s standards.

Contribute to recruiting and hiring efforts, including evaluating candidates and supporting staff growth.

Participate in internal initiatives to strengthen educational resources, programming systems, and operational efficiency.

Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, clients, and performance staff while modeling leadership and professionalism.

Balance coaching responsibilities with administrative and leadership duties to support both daily operations and long-term growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field - Master’s degree preferred.

Holding a current certification in one or both of the NCAA preferred certifications - NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC

Minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience, ideally with a background in athletic performance for basketball players.

At least 1-2 years of leadership experience such as mentoring staff, managing training operations, or overseeing a performance department is strongly preferred.

Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills

Knowledge of Exercise Science, anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and psychology

Knowledge of the following but not limited: strength, speed, conditioning, agility, plyometrics, mobility, flexibility, and safety measures

Strong ability to demonstrate effective communication with student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration

Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Google Drive.

Performance Trainer
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a performance trainer candidate who thrives in a fast-paced and learning-focused environment. The candidate should possess an excellent work ethic and eagerness to learn that warrants them to work with some of the most promising youth athletes in the DMV. The Performance Trainer is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility, conducting performance assessments, implementing performance training programs with athletes and general population clients, and communicating with recovery specialists, clients, and other resources to ensure holistic performance training. Your goal is to uphold our standard of exceptional sports performance experience.
You will learn our training philosophy: how we teach movement mechanics for each sport, and how we program to improve performance attributes. You will be provided leads by the company, which you must convert to have your own clients. This allows you to have the freedom to create your own flexible schedule. As a performance trainer, there are also opportunities to coach semi-private sessions, team sessions, and travel with one of our partnership teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide biomechanical analysis and breakdown of sport-specific movements.

Implement strength and conditioning programs and tailor these programs based on the specific needs of your client.

Communicate with recovery specialists to ensure holistic care for our athletes.

Available to work after 3 pm on weekdays.
QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing or completion of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field.

National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), College Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or other nationally recognized certification required or eligible for certification.

1-2 years of work experience in the field is preferred.

Experience working with athletes.

Sports participation of at least 4 years (required).

Recovery Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a licensed massage therapist for the Recovery Specialist position who thrives in a fast-paced and learning-focused environment. The candidate should possess an excellent work ethic and eagerness to learn that warrants them to work with some of the most promising youth athletes in the DMV. The Recovery Specialist will report to the Director of Recovery and is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility, implementing recovery protocols with athletes and general population clients, and communicating with trainers, clients, and other resources to ensure holistic performance training. There are also opportunities to travel with our partnership teams.
Your goal is to uphold our standard of exceptional sports performance experience. You will learn our philosophy behind performance: how we integrate recovery with our performance training, how we address pains and aches, and how we work with pathologies. You must be willing to be coachable and willing to learn new philosophies and techniques from our Director of Performance. You will be provided clients, and it is your responsibility to provide high standard of care to maintain our clientele. This allows you to have the freedom to create your own flexible schedule.

Performance Trainer Intern
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a performance trainer intern who thrives in a learning-focused environment. The intern should possess an excellent work ethic and eagerness to learn that warrants them to work with some of the most promising youth athletes in the DMV. The responsibilities of a Performance Trainer Intern include maintaining a clean and safe facility, shadow performance trainers working with athletes, general population clients, small groups, and teams, learning our performance assessments protocol. You will learn our training philosophy: how we teach movement mechanics for each sport, and how we program to improve performance attributes.
QUALIFICATIONS

Student who is passionate about sports performance training.

Working towards National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or a personal training certificate.

Knowledge of anatomy, human movement, and exercise selection.

Student who is eager to learn.

Preferably have previous strength training experience.

Availability: Our busiest hours are between 3-7pm during the week and Saturday mornings. However, there are also morning and afternoon opportunities.
